What is the difference between SRT and VTT?
Both store subtitle text with timestamps. WebVTT starts with a WEBVTT header and supports additional web playback features. Some styling and positioning cannot be preserved when converting to SRT.
Will a plain-text export keep the timestamps?
A transcript export is intended for the words. Choose a timed subtitle format when you need to keep cue timing for video playback.
Is the subtitle converter free?
Yes. Use the tool and download the result without an account, subscription, credits or watermark. Paid AI video generation is a separate service.
Are my files uploaded?
Media and text are processed in your browser. The tool does not upload them to a rendering server. The site still downloads its code and fonts and uses ordinary page analytics.
Will it work on my phone?
The page works on smaller screens, but media export depends on browser codec support, memory and device performance. Check the limits shown in the tool and use a short file first.
